Watermark Park, a new county park in Horizon West, has opened

Watermark Park, a new Orange County neighborhood park in Horizon West, opened on August 31, 2026. "Watermark Park opened on August 31, 2026," the county's park page says.

What changed

• A 5.69-acre park is now open at 9940 Seidel Road, Winter Garden.
• The county's page lists six amenities: "Fitness Path", "Inclusive Playground", "Leashed Pet Allowed", "Picnic Area/Grills", "Playground" and "Scenic".
• The West Orange Times & Observer describes a dog park for small and large dogs, and shaded playgrounds for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12.
• It cost $1.8 million, the Observer reports, and it is the county's 115th park.
• Mayor Jerry Demings and District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson cut the ribbon.

• At the 2025 groundbreaking, county Parks and Recreation representative Amanda Kimmer said the park would not have parking spaces or bathroom facilities, the West Orange Times & Observer reported.
• Hoodline also reports that it "was intentionally designed without dedicated parking spaces or public restroom facilities."
• The county's park page lists hours and amenities, and does not mention parking or restrooms.
• The mayor called it a walk-up park: "This is a community park, and I think when we envision this, this is supposed to be a walk-up park, a shared space with our school here."
• Parking and crosswalks are open questions. At the opening he told residents: "I know some of you have some concerns about parking and crosswalks and other things, we'll take care of all of that over time."
