What changed
- The closure. Mako closed as a precaution on Oct. 13, a day after a man died after falling from the Goliath coaster at Six Flags. On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Mako was listed as temporarily closed in the SeaWorld app.
- The reason. SeaWorld confirmed to WFTV that the coaster was shut down "out of an abundance of caution" while an investigation continued into the incident in Georgia, which left one person dead and four injured. Mako and Goliath were both designed by Bolliger & Mabillard, and the two coasters have similar ride restraints.
- The reopening. The coaster resumed operations about a week after SeaWorld closed it, WFTV reports. SeaWorld did not say if any modifications were or will be made to the coaster, FOX 35 reports.
