What changed

  • A new sports bar is open, on a soft opening. Bungalower reported that it "will soft open Thursday, Sept. 24", and Orlando Weekly reported four days later that it "has soft-opened in the old Swiggs space".
  • Florida licenses it. The state's food-service licence file lists REEVES SPORTS BAR at 50 E CENTRAL BLVD, ORLANDO as present, expiring 04/01/2027. Its licensing inspection on 09/14/2026 is recorded as completed, with no further action. The state's new-licence list records the licence application as approved on 09/14/2026.
  • Who is behind it. The concept comes from Thriving Hospitality, "the Orlando-based restaurant group behind spots including Thrive, Lamp & Shade and Packwoods". Michael D'Esposito of the group described it as a "high-energy sports bar". The kitchen offers "cheffy spins on classic pub grub courtesy of Thriving Hospitality chef-partner Ryan Stewart".
  • What it serves. Previewed dishes include "buffalo hummus, 24-hour brined and dry-rubbed wings, Brussels sprouts, tuna nachos and cheesesteak egg rolls, along with pressed burgers, sandwiches and salads". Orlando Weekly says it offers "a proper craft cocktail program".
  • The bar's own description. Its website advertises 16 screens and 7 days a week.

What it means if you live here

  • You can go now, on the soft opening.
  • Check hours before you go. None of these sources gives them.
  • The bar's own website is out of date. On October 2 it still read "Coming Soon to Downtown Orlando" and "Phase One — Construction In Progress". Go by the news reports and the state licence for its status, not the website.
  • A grand opening may still come. No date has been announced.
