Olde Hearth Bread Co. has opened a shop in Ivanhoe Village, in a soft opening. Orlando Weekly reported on October 2 that "Rye Row by Olde Hearth has soft-opened at 1231 N. Orange Ave. in Ivanhoe Village". Bungalower reported it open on September 24.

What changed

  • A storefront for a wholesale bakery. Bungalower writes: "Rye Row by Olde Hearth is the new storefront where the rest of us can walk in and buy those goodies directly." The bakery's wholesale operation is in Casselberry.
  • What it sells. Bungalower lists "fresh breads, pastries, cookies, and coffee". Orlando Weekly lists "everything from fresh sourdough loaves and croissants to danishes and granola".
  • Later than planned. In March, WFTV reported plans "to open a new retail shop this May in Orlando". Orlando Weekly wrote then that the bakery was "poised to move into the picturesque strip in mid-May". On July 6, Orlando Weekly reported that it "has experienced delays in opening its Ivanhoe Village shop, but still anticipates opening this summer at 1231 N. Orange Ave."

When

  • Late September, without an announcement. "The shop quietly opened over the weekend and reopened Wednesday, Sept. 23, after taking Monday and Tuesday off." (Bungalower, September 24, 2026)
  • No grand opening yet. "There's no grand opening date yet."

Where

1231 N. Orange Ave. on Ivanhoe Row, in the former House of Sploot space. The pet shop "left the Row for a larger location in Longwood".

What it means if you live here

  • Hours are a target, not a promise. The owners, Shannon and Janice Talty, "are aiming for 8 a.m.-4 p.m., but emphasize that this is very much a soft opening." Bungalower adds: "Hours may be sporadic, the cases may not have the full lineup".
  • The same bread is sold elsewhere. The bakery's website says "you can get our breads at many local farmers markets and the three Central Florida Whole Foods locations."
  • How current this is. This post rests on the reports of September 24 and October 2; no later report was read.
